Virgil Abloh, a recent nominee for the LVMH prize, has since launching fashion label Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh, become a household name in the world of street wear. Off-White originally grew out of Pyrex Vision, an art project also founded by Abloh. Having worked as Kanye West’s creative director for approx. the last decade, Virgil Abloh is by no means however new to the scene. He has throughout his career so far worked with some well established players in fashion, like Silvia Venturini Fendi at Fendi and collaborated with the likes of Nick Knight, Riccardo Tisci, Kim Jones, Takashi Murakami and Balmain's Olivier Rousteing to name a few. Now however, his main focus is on Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh. With Off-White, Abloh is with his collections mastering that difficult combination of street wear and high fashion. His silhouettes and trends are clearly inspired by the streets but is constructed with fine detailing in luxurious materials, which is what sets this apart from the rest. The women’s spring/summer 2015 collection titled “Nebraska” offers you just that.

Mens Pre-Fall 2018 collection from Off-White entitled "GLASS HOUSE" features sweatshirts, flannel shirts, oversized scarves, sweatpants and much more! With large logos and graphic prints amongst others, the collection makes also use of plaid patterns, which appear on shirts, along with the infamous “CHECK” branding.

Off-White spring summer 2019 men's collection “Impressionism” after Virgil Abloh.
The collection is inspired by “Impressionism” which is a style of painting which began in France in the late 19th century. The prints from this collection are from a 1874 canvas by Édouard Manet, of his friend Claude Monet painting in his studio boat. Virgil says that this collection is a portrait of him painting himself in the right light.

AW20/“202” draws inspiration from the late 90’s Helly Hansen “E-352 offshore survival suit” which was developed for riggers, fishermen and rescue services working in the arctic or other cold water conditions.
Each suit featured cutting edge design details such as reinforced flame retardant & water tight fab- rics and seams, attached gloves, boots & spray-hood capsule with inflatable cushion to improve water tightness and floating position, lifting becket and emergency lights. All SOLAS approved in accordance with Marine Directive 96/98/EC.
Using modern iterations of the innovative technologies that went into each survival suit, AW20 not only embraces the E-352’s visual aesthetics but also utilises professional-grade fabrications, 3 layer shell technology, ultrasonic taped seams, 3M reflective detailing and interchangeable utility patch pockets. While the more toned down basics within the range are filled with Primaloft Silver for superior insulation.

The memories of a brief story, with no future but unforgettable. Those of a wave of overwhelming euphoria that recedes in September, as if nothing had ever existed. It sticks to the skin, its trail lingers. Yet, one must turn the page. Though innocence fades with the passing summers, Olatua allows one not to forget, to be reminded by the wave.
