Chanel
Arguably the most famous perfume in the world – most memorably endorsed by Marilyn Monroe – Chanel No. 5 continues to fascinate and claims millions of devotees around the world. Created in 1921 by Coco Chanel, the perfume was one of the first to use synthetics. To complement her pioneering fashion, Chanel wanted to give the modern woman ‘a perfume, but an artificial perfume…not rose or lily of the valley…a perfume that is compound’, presented in a distinctively pared-back glass bottle that would become an icon in its own right (inspiring a series of works by Andy Warhol decades later).
Presented in two volumes (one on the early years of Chanel No 5 from 1921 to 1945, the other on the period in which Chanel No. 5 went truly global, from the postwar years to today), Chanel No. 5 explores the evolution of the perfume’s packaging, composition, manufacture and marketing, with unprecedented access to the Chanel archives and those tasked with creating the fragrance today.
The world’s leading creatives have lent their talents to the perfume’s advertising campaigns, which are given pride of place in the book, from photographers such as Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton, to film directors including Ridley Scott and Baz Luhrmann, and stylish muses – Coco Chanel herself, of course, as well as Suzy Parker, Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, Gisele Bündchen and Lily-Rose Depp.

Régime des Fleurs
In Greek mythology naiads were nymph-like feminine spirits presiding over bodies of fresh water - fountains, springs, streams, and brooks. One such nymph was the seductive Minthe of the river Cocytus.
When spurned Queen Persephone discovered her husband Hades having an illicit affair, young Minthe was metamorphosed forever into a harmless common herb - sweet mint.

Here she is represented as a decadent and exuberant bare breasted young woman flourishing in laughter.

Régime des Fleurs
A spicy, leathery rose. Là-Bas is the heart between two places, a haunting lust for somewhere else.
"A decadent bygone world of velvets, woods, and roses. Opening with the sweet flirtation of a gleaming red apple and golden pear. The contralto of patchouli wraps the skin in dry seduction. A combination of Bulgarian and Turkish rose fill the room with beauty from a forgotten time. Created by master perfumer Dominique Ropion."

Régime des Fleurs
A muddy ride on horseback in sparkling green Fontainebleau forest. Woody, sharp, masculine elements. From Régime des Fleurs and Christopher Niquet.
"For a pony named Rock River Melody. Christopher and I worked together to capture that feeling of striking out into the outdoors for the first time after a long winter. Crisp spring mornings with young leaves on trees and flowers just beginning to bud. We envisioned the magic of the ancient forest of Fontainebleau outside of Paris whose vistas have been captured by artists and inhabited by French aristocracy for a millennium."

Régime des Fleurs
A collaboration with film and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny, Little Flower is Régime des Fleurs’ take on Sevigny’s favorite bloom—the rose. Juicy, romantic, layered floral and citrus elements.
"Chloë is a dear friend and an endless source of inspiration to me. I’ve associated her with roses for as long as I’ve known her and have always found a certain romance in her relationship with them, her ultimate fascination and the comfort they’d bring. It took us a year and a half and 33 different versions to get the scent just right. The result is what I find to be the true essence of Chloë: timeless, glamorous, so vibrantly alive."

Little People, Big Dreams
Meet Andy Warhol, the ground-breaking pop artist.
Little Andy was the tiniest and palest child of the Warholas, a humble couple from Slovakia who lived in Pittsburgh. Sketchbook glued to his hand, he loved every minute of drawing, but he was too shy to show his work to others, even to his family! As an adult he got a chance to publish his first illustration for a glamorous magazine. He turned his attention to the ordinary, like soup cans he ate from for lunch every day. He showed the world that the ordinary objects could POP, and founded a cultural movement. This moving book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the inspiring artist’s life.
