The artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset have been collecting photos for their ever-expanding image archive, The Incidental Self, throughout their twenty-year collaboration. These intimate photos have previously been shown at galleries, museums, and biennials in Europe and Asia, but are now for the first time compiled in an image-only publication, titled Biography. The book includes hundreds of private snapshots that span many events and locations, offering a glimpse of the artists’ studio, working processes, exhibitions, travels, parties, friendships, relationships, and inspirations. The contents, ranging from personal photos to those taken by friends, studio assistants, professional photographers, family, and colleagues, give the impression of an oversized and rather absurd family photo album, focussing on a masculine reality. As a whole, the selection of images creates a fluid perception of what today can be called a “self.” The Book, soon to be released at Storm, is based off the exhibition at the National Gallery of Denmark. OFF-WHITE presents its first women’s line "I Only Smoke When I Drink“. For this debut collection Virgil Abloh mixes street silhouettes with Parisian chic blurring the lines between street style and high-end luxury. Virgil told Style.com, "My goal is to transcend outside of the streetwear and surprise people in a way. I'm very honored to be selling at the stores that I'm at. These are the places that I love, so the goal for me is to intersect with a wider audience and just be a representative of what's happening in the street but have that square footage in the stores to kind of attract new fashion consumers." In 2013 it was announced that after a 36 year long journey, the American space probe “Voyager-1” had left our solar system and entered interstellar space. For FW’14, Eytys introduce the new style “Odyssey”. It comes with the same signature sole as debut style “Mother” but is equipped with higher shaft and tongue. It’s fully padded and has leather lining, making it highly suitable for winter wear. Mother and Odyssey are now also offered with black soles. The collection consists of artworks and animations based on Voyager-1’s vast expedition. The story unfolds in collaboration with London based artist and image-maker Tom Sewell who creates images stretching the possibilities that working digitally with colour allows. Exploring the themes of the wonders of nature, and inspired by psychedelia, pop culture and meditation, Sewell’s space surroundings are printed on sneakers as well as the FW’14 packaging. This saturday we will celebrate with KB3 presenting The Cool Kids! The duo of Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish met in mid-2005 after Mikey came across some of Chuck's beats online. In 2007 they started receiving a lot of press attention from Fellow Chicagoans and tastemakers Pitchfork, who invited them to play at their Summer festival. This led to a spot at New York's CMJ Music Marathon, where they shared a showcase with DJ A-Tra, who offered to put out their EP, and an opening spot on M.I.A.'s solo tour. Since then they have released a number of highly regarded EP’s and albums. In January of 2014, The Cool Kids dropped two new songs, “computerschool” and “Chop” (feat. The HBK Gang) on their SoundCloud and we are more than ready to experience the talented duo. - Storm x KBIII presenting The Cool Kids this Saturday, August 23rd. Doors open at 11pm
