The Autumn Winter 2017 Collection is all about duality, a reoccurring theme throughout the seasons. With this collection, the brand wants to push the idea further and explore the balance between high and low, mixing everyday essentials with refined pieces. The girl in mind is consequent in her style yet brave and exploring.
Leather, fur, faux fur, wool jackets and coats are the very core of the brand as well as of this season’s collection. The colour palette of warm neutrals, petrol and injections of rich burnished crimsons, pink and dusty blue are turned up with a wider selection of animal prints. All adding to the relaxed, urban, sporty yet sophisticated spirit that STAND is all about.

Raf Simons can’t escape the hype, it seems. Recently his direction of The XX’s new video caused high praise, and now he’s being celebrated thoroughly in the brand new A$AP Mob video for ”RAF” featuring A$AP Rocky, Quavo and Playboi Carti – sporting some fabulous archive Raf Simons pieces.

To live in the modern world is to be assalled on all fronts by a constant barrage of sensory information. The very thought may make Hypebeast want to withdraw indefinitely into solitude but it is immensely more rewarding to embrace the phenomena which add all the more color to live. This approach formed the guiding principle for the 18th publication tited The Sensory Issue - where today sought out the creatives who sift through the reams of raw information in the wider world, disttilling it into something all the more profound. Renowned airbush master Hajime Sorayama is the cover story this issue, having honed his art down to a science over a four-decade-long career. Sight and sound mix in the next story on animated chart topping band Gorillaz, who took a break from promoting their new album Humanz to fill in on their aural exploratiions during their six-year hiatus in typical devil-may-care style.
Elsewhere in this issue, Hypebeast continued the exploration of the intertwinning of Eat and West within fashion. Keizo Shimizu, founder of Nepenthes, recounts his mission of importing middle America's thrift shop finds to plants tge first seeds of the influential Americana movement back in Japan. Om the "Conversations With..." section, Hypebeast ask San Francisco native Alexander Wang on what it's like having the highest-profile Asian name in fashion.
To both literally and metaphorically reflect the fembot artwork that Hajime Sorayama created exclusively for the cover, The Sensory Issue is the first to feature an entirely metallic cover and comes packaged within a similarly metallic sleeve with special gifts inside.

Sacai was established by Chitose Abe in 1999 after 8 years of working with the Junya Watanabe collection at Comme des Garçons. Her collections may appear to be about femininity, but Abe’s interest is in creating clothes that are entirely unique and timeless, innovative and experimental. Juxtapositions of contrasting textures of fabrics such as knits with super fine wovens and usage of techniques based on reinterpretations of patterns of the garment transform the pieces into unexpected shapes and silhouettes.
This women season Chitose Abe cut a jean jacket lined with fur and twisted denim into a long, swirling skirt spliced with silk or lace. Utility parkas in delicate multicolor floral lace. Tweed jackets in a sporty look and with puffers. Layered colorful nylon jackets under a dress coat or cape.
The Fall 2017 menswear collection Chitose Abe called the Cut Ups. Her various arrangements of fabric, color, and garment archetypes of streetwear had a calmly organized vibe, and an almost serendipitous prettiness about them. The difference Abe spoke about, through her interpreter, was that she’d changed her habit of making pieces from contrasting fronts and backs. The the mellow color palette gives it all a gentle, easy, utilitarianism, which chimed with the way things are going.
