For him, less is more. Where others may mix hundreds of essences, Geza Schön restricts himself to a small selection of top-quality raw materials. The decision is founded on experience, for just a few components frequently produce the most stirring creations. Away from the mainstream, Geza Schön has established an exclusive niche for himself in the perfumer’s art. We talked to Geza Schön about his youth and his new perfume gs03. What olfactive memory is the most powerful for you? Probably being at my grandparents house. you didn't even notice really all the smells you were surrounded by and yet i can still today think of a corner in their house and I can still vividly imagine those smells around, fabulous! What is your favorite scent? My girlfriend sophie. How is it to work for Parfumkunstwerke Biehl, compared to other companies? It is the most pleasurable company to work with, no limits, no restrictions, only the best ingredients. For your new scent gs03 you reworked the classic 'eau de cologne' - where did the idea come from and was it difficult to work on a scent so well known? As a perfumer you always look back as well, into older ideas, classics and whatever there has been to then modernize those ideas or bring them up to speed of nowadays. Same here: the oldest of all perfumes, the eau de cologne theme with the orange blossom, modernized. What are your 5 favorite songs at the moment? 5??? i give you one, a very good one : Daughter - Get Lucky (Daft Punk Cover) Buy the new gz03 here

Phillips uses collaborative forms of image production to reorder the relationship of Pop art to its subjects. The staging and format of his films presage the return of their subjects as paintings; eventually, they form the foundation for lush, large-scale works such as Sasha (2012), Lindsay II (2012), and Lindsay III (2012), realist portraits of the place-holders of their own mediated existence. In addition to working with Lohan and Grey, Phillips has collaborated with Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima to create a new series of paintings that depict her against backdrops of iconic Brazilian landmarks, such as Oscar Niemeyer’s Cathédral de Brasília, the patterned sidewalks of Copa Cabana, and the favelas of Rio. In these scenes, such as Adriana I (2012), in which Lima poses seductively across the roof of the cathedral, the impact of her preternatural beauty and the aura she commands as a supermodel is conflated, and thus equated with, national icons of economic, political, and religious culture.

A Lab on Fire is THE unlikely company: an enigma wrapped in mystery. An ingenious niche limited-production fragrance house in a surpisingly compact waterfront studio- within-a-studio that looks across the East River to Manhattan. A Lab On Fire amphasize the hands-on aspects of creating original fragrances along with its priorities for their safety, stability, freshness and quality. Each frangrance, created by a famous nose like Thierry Wasser, Dominique Ropion and Olivier Polge, is batched at a state-of-the-art factory in New Jersey but packaged by Brooklyn neighborhood artists whose handlabeling sometimes results in serendipitous touches that lend individual character to each bottle.

"The world of perfume and the small pool of talented perfumers who work within the industry is a fascinating realm to explore. Whilst most of us are familiar with the iconic fragrance bottles and their accompanying campaigns, less is known about the perfumer, or the 'nose' behind them. These individuals are specialists, effectively artists who are highly trained in the concepts of fragrance aesthetics and capable of conveying abstract concepts and moods with delicate fragrance compositions. Geza Schoen is a leading independent nose, and the man behind one of the world's most standout fragrances, Escentric Molecules. Having previously resided in London, New York and Paris, German-born Schoen now lives and works from his home in Berlin, on the top floor of a 1960s apartment block in Kreuzberg. The apartment includes a small laboratory, which contains the all-important tools of his trade: raw materials, a scale and mixing accruements. He has recently realised that a fun way of crossing his modernist apartment, from laboratory to desk, is using a skateboard." anothermag.com

Plethora Magazine is an independent, bianual publication founded in Copenhagen that seeks to challenge the bounds of the conventional magazine format — conceptually as well as physically. More akin to a carefully curated work of art the magazine serves up a novel and thought provoking take on the approach to printed matter that is both infinitely slower than your average glossy mag and excessive enough in format to seriously put the size of any coffee table to the test. Skilfully printed by the monks of a hindu temple an air of serenity permeates from every page of the magazine as the reader is taken on a wondrous and timeless journey far away from the cultural mainstream. In honouring the unique qualities of artisanal printing tradition, Plethora offers a purist take on the future expression of the printed magazine and a quiet ode to all the things left behind by the fast track digilisation. No noize, no ads and no logos, just 52 pages of postersize visual indulgence and tales from the life less ordinary presented in a careful blend of quirky archive material, fine art prints and contemporary artist features.
