BOY'S OWN
Emerging around the same time as London’s house music scene and created by some of those responsible, Boy’s Own documented the acid house revolution from within. First unleashed in 1986 by Terry Farley, Cymon Eckel, Steve Mayes, Steve Hall and the late Andrew Weatherall, it folded clubbing and football’s terrace culture into each other with a sharp, satirical insiders’ take on the fashion and music that connected both worlds.
Full of spelling mistakes, designed with Pritt Stick, and often typed up by Farley’s mum, Boy’s Own became not just the voice of an era but a catalyst for many of its most influential parties and anthems, evolving into Boy’s Own Recordings and later the Junior Boy’s Own label. Each member brought their own unfiltered opinions on the state of football or London clubland, but regular contributions from the likes of fellow DJ and promoter Paul Oakenfold and acid house photographer Dave Swindells help reflect just how integral to the scene their zine was.
Reimagined as a series of tees, the raw DIY feel of the artwork handpicked for Collection No.1 resonates even more now than it did then. While the gang were busy living it at the time, looking back now we know exactly how much of an influence Boy’s Own had on British dance music history, and in turn contemporary fashion and street culture. If the scarcity and high price of original issues is anything to go by, this 40p zine’s enduring relevance is already assured. “Even after a few years off we’ve not had to create an all-new Boy’s Own,” explains Cymon Eckel. “We just applied a fresh lens that fits today’s landscape while remaining true to the emotion, politics and cultural responsibility we set out with.

K1X’ unique street basketball DNA is alienatedly showcased in traditional Lee denim jackets. Borders of art, street and denim blur alongside Richie’s art pieces. The project is a perfect example of art x street fashion. The exploratory and improvisational approach to making art we find in Richie Culver’s growing oeuvre can be seen as an outcome of the tensions between binary cultural and social opposites — provincial vs. cosmopolitan; cash-strapped vs. affluent; art museum highs vs. street-cultural lows. In what seems an examination of ones experience and inner self, the material outcome of this attitude to creativity can take any one of a range of forms, from gritty documentary photography (much of it made during a period working on a trailer park) to urban bricolage, from primitively executed drawings and paintings through to video. Highly style conscious and yet pragmatic, there is a kind of punk aesthetic at work in Culver’s approach both to art-making and to exhibiting. Richie Culvers work embodies a level of honesty and vulnerability and he has what a lot of young artists today strive for – the artist lifestyle.

From Samuel L. Jackson to Eminem - Kangol is perhaps the most notable headwear brand in the world.
Founded in the 1920s by World War I veteran Jacques Spreiregen, Kangol produced hats for workers, golfers, and especially soldiers. During and after the war, Kangol berets were the height of fashion.
In the 1960s, designers Mary Quant and Pierre Cardin worked with the company, whose products graced the heads of the rich and famous, including the Beatles and Arnold Palmer, and later Diana, Princess of Wales.
In the 1980s Kangol berets entered a new phase of fashion history with their adoption by members of the hip-hopcommunity, such as Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Kangol Kid of UTFO, and The Notorious B.I.G.

Automobiles have always been a major part of our society. Everyone has a story they'd like to tell, a trip, a car, a detail, a smell, a roadside billboard, a particular gas station or even a breakdown...Yet no one has transcribed these memories and experiences into an aesthetic out of the car industry.

This is precisely what Arthur KAR and his creative team are doing at KAR. Combining their strong knowledge and understanding of the arts & fashion, and the reknowned yet secretive world of L'art De L'automobile, to create fundamental and conceptual garments.
Finding balance between high-end tailoring and design, the influence of street culture, and environment too often reserved to car aficionados, such is the ambition of KAR.

Ever since the Karhu Performance Running team presented The Synchron 2020, the Karhu lifestyle team (known as LEGEND) have been huge fans.
The Synchron 2020 is a shoe that has all the technical features you would expect a shoe from a premium running brand to have. However, some of Karhu’s leading technologies like Ortix and Fulcrum were developed back in the 80s and have been our main technologies ever since. The Synchron 2020 also includes Karhu’s Synchron Lacing System, which is featured in the Synchron Classic, a staple in the LEGEND collection since 2016.
The clean knitted upper and technical sole unit made the Synchron 2020 the perfect shoe for the LEGEND team to create a version that would not just be a great running shoe, but also a stylish, comfortable version for everyday use.
The first iteration of The Synchron 2020, colour designed by the LEGEND team, is nicknamed the “Dusty Coral”, inspired by the vibrant sole unit, and comes in women’s sizes especially made for the Karhu women’s running collection.
The Karhu Synchron 2020 “Dusty Coral” is now available online and in store.

"Staring into the depths of a Finnish sky at night is a calming experience Karhu captures in this special release of two Aria colour ways. In winter, darkness comes early casting muted hues of blue and green high above, while the horizon glows of yellow and orange as the sun drops behind treelines. The Aria “Night Sky” Pack represents an appreciation for quiet hours, dropping temperatures and the tranquil moments of being outdoors after dark."
