Emil Monty Freddie Exhibition

Emil Monty Freddie is a Copenhagen based photographer specialised within the fashion and advertising industry. In connection with the publication of his latest book - En Håndbog, which shows the meeting between human beings and their specific histories and anecdotes, we are holding an exhibition of Emil’s signature photographs in store.
Emily Gernild:
Black Lemons
Focusing on recent works, the richly illustrated monograph Black Lemons provides an introduction to the work of Danish artist Emily Gernild (*1985). In conversation with editor and curator Milena Høgsberg, the artist explores how she builds her assertive, textured, colourful paintings, drawing from everyday life, dreams, curious idioms, or types of historical still life painting, determined to squeeze more out of them. With great ease she moves between oil paint and rabbit skin glue and pigment, allowing her to investigate the dynamic relationship between figure and ground in different ways. Art historian and writer Grant Klarich Johnson situates Gernild's practice in the landscape of contemporary painting, drawing comparisons to other generations of women artists, who have also explored genres historically deemed “lesser”.

Escentric Molecules
Escentric 03 is a tribute to the more familiar side of vetiver: its darker, slightly exotic woodiness. It opens with a burst of freshness – top notes of ginger root, green peppercorn, Mexican lime. The heart of the fragrance is orris surrounded by Egyptian jasmine and soft tea notes. The slightly bitter notes of vetiver at the base are smoothed by rich amber shades of sandalwood, cedar, leather and musk. The overall impression is spicy but fresh with warm balsamic undertones, like a traditional chypre. It’s sensuous without sweetness, which is something of a Schoen signature.
Top notes: Ginger root, green peppercorn, Mexican lime.
Heart notes: Orris, Egyptian jasmine, soft tea.
Base notes: Vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, leather and musk.

As always with Escentric Molecules, their new fragrances 04 is of both high perfection and subtleness.
“What I love about Javanol is its almost psychedelic freshness,” says Geza Schoen. “It smells as if liquid metallic grapefruit peel were poured over a bed of velvety cream-coloured roses.”
Escentric Molecules 04 celebrates the futuristic freshness of Javanol, a sheer sandalwood molecule, in two different fragrances. Javanol is a sandalwood-type molecule that retains the radiance and endurance of natural sandalwood, but is sheer and transparent like no sandalwood in nature.
Javanol is like Iso E Super, the molecule in Escentric Molecules 01, in some ways. Like Iso E Super, it comes and goes. The person wearing it loses the ability to smell it after a short while, only to re-connect with it later.
Javanol does not exist in nature. It was created in a laboratory at Givaudan in 1996.
